Background about the symposium:
Cognitive technology is transforming all aspects of enterprises and society today. This requires dedicated investments – both financially & intellectually – to build a world class ecosystem accessible for all.
IIITB, in partnership with Mphasis are committed to building the first of its kind cognitive computing centre focusing on machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, sensors and augmented reality. Through this partnership, IIITB and Mphasis intends to reach out to the sections of society that can benefit the most from it.
IIITB and Mphasis will be inaugurating the Cognitive Computing Centre-of-Excellence on this day and the Symposium is the first of the initiatives of this Centre.
The centre will focus on applied research with relevance for society and enterprises. The centre will work on proof of concepts, prototypes, and research papers and all intellectual assets generated from the programme will be open sourced and accessible for everyone.
Objectives of this Symposium
- Raise awareness about the needs in the domains of education, enterprise & government, accessibility
- Understand the challenges that are currently being faced with regard to the use of technology in these domains
- Sharing of strategies and technology solutions that are working both within India, as well as internationally
- Devising innovative technological solutions that could be implemented to help in addressing such challenges
- To develop a way forward to implement the innovations and necessary tools to make the fight against such challenges more effective
- In all this, to generate a closer-knit partnership between academia, corporate India, Public Sector and NGOs in addressing these challenges
The proceedings of the symposium will be compiled in the form of a report (video / audio) and would be shared with all participants.
